Bacon with Rice Cakes 3 Ways

Bacon with Rice Cakes 3 Ways
Servings: 2 (per recipe)10 minutes

Garlic Lemon Butter

  • 4 slices of Jones Dairy Farm No-Sugar Bacon
  • 2 rice cakes
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of finely chopped parsley

Sweet and Savory Soy Sauce

  • 4 slices of Jones Dairy Farm No-Sugar Bacon
  • 2 rice cakes
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • 4 large shiso leaves (2 cut in half vertically, 2 julienned)
  • 1 tablespoon of grated daikon radish
  • A. 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • A. 1 tablespoon sake
  • A. 1 tablespoon mirin
  • A. 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Korean-Style Spicy Sauce

  • 4 slices of Jones Dairy Farm No-Sugar Bacon
  • 2 rice cakes
  • 2 pieces of sliced cheese
  • White sesame seeds, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped scallions
  • A. 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
  • A. 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • A. 1 tablespoon honey
  • A. 1 teaspoon grated garlic
  • A. 2 tablespoons water

Garlic Lemon Butter Instructions:

  • 1Cut the rice cakes and cheese in half vertically.
  • 2Place a piece of cheese and rice cakes on the No-Sugar Bacon and roll. Repeat with the other bacon.
  • 3Place the rolled end of (2) downwards in a frying pan and cook.
  • 4When the bacon releases its fat, add sliced garlic and sauté.
  • 5Once the rice cakes become soft, add butter and lemon juice.
  • 6Plate and top with parsley and black pepper.

Sweet and Savory Sauce Instructions:

  • 1Cut the rice cakes, cheese, and shiso leaves in half vertically.
  • 2Place shiso leaves, cheese, and rice cakes on the No-Sugar Bacon and roll. Repeat with the other bacon.
  • 3Place the rolled end of (2) downwards in a frying pan and cook.
  • 4Once it has color and the rice cakes become soft, wipe off excess fat, and add the combined (A) sauce.
  • 5Plate and serve with grated daikon radish and julienned shiso leaves.

Korean-Style Spicy Sauce Instructions:

  • 1Cut the rice cakes and cheese in half vertically.
  • 2Place rice cakes and cheese on the No-Sugar Bacon and roll. Repeat with the other bacon.
  • 3Place the rolled end of (2) downwards in a frying pan and cook.
  • 4Once it has color and the rice cakes become soft, blot excess fat with a paper towel, and add the combined (A) sauce.
  • 5Plate and garnish with chopped scallions and white sesame seeds.
