Hickory Smoked Ham Kushikatsu

Hickory Smoked Ham Kushikatsu

Batter:

  • 50g flour
  • 60g water
  • 1 tsp white miso

Sauce:

  • 40g Tonkatsu sauce
  • 10g Worcestershire sauce
  • 40g Mirin
  • 1Combine batter ingredients together and set aside.
  • 2Cut Hickory Smoked Ham into approximately 2 cm cubes. Cut onion into wedges.
  • 3Wet bamboo skewers. Thread ham, onion, and ham alternatively, and the other skewer with ham, quail egg, and ham. Make 4 of each.
  • 4Thinly sprinkly flour, dip in batter, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  • 5Add 3 cm of frying oil into a pan and heat until 180°C.
  • 6Add the skewers and fry until golden brown.
  • 7Combine sauce ingredients in a heat-proof container, microwave for 1 minute, then generously coat skewers with sauce.
